Pricing

Commissioned art portraits are priced based on various factors such as the size of the artwork, the medium used, and the complexity of the subject matter.
Prices listed below are approximate, based on a head portrait of a single subject. As every commission is unique, you may want something slightly different, or you may have multiple pets you'd like to have included. I take a collaborative approach to this and I am always happy to discuss your ideas and try to incorporate them where I can.
If you have a specific budget, or size that you would like, I am always happy to discuss what I can do to accommodate, however please bear in mind the hours it takes to complete a portrait.

Oil paintings take a considerable amount of time to produce as they are done in multiple layers, and can take weeks due to drying time. If you are considering commissioning an oil painting please allow at least 4 months. If you have a specific date in mind, please allow plenty of time to enable me to complete the portrait in time.
Canvas sizes vary significantly and can be box canvases, square canvases as well as coming a variety of materials.
Below is a rough guide to the approximate price for oil paintings of these canvas sizes, based on a single subject, with a solid plain background.

All my work is done in a collaborative way, to ensure that you are happy with the finished painting. I will share the process with you at various stages, to ensure if there are any changes needed, maybe you want a different background etc, these can be done in the early stages.
If at any point throughout the process you decide you no longer want the painting, the deposit retained will be calculated, based on the stage the painting is at. If this ever happens, I reserve the right to complete the painting and use it as part of my own portfolio, sell or reproduce as prints. However, I wish to avoid this at all costs, which is why I will spend a lot of time discussing the commission with you, before any work is done, to ensure you are completely happy with the details.
